GO GREEN GO-KART COMPETITION May 19, 2011

The Alternative Fuels - Environmental Club at the Career Center hosted an alternative fuels Go Green Go-Kart Competition on May 19, 2011 as part of the Career Center's annual Carnival Day. This year, the karts were powered by electricity, ethanol, biodiesel, and WVO (waste vegetable oil.) These go-Karts were designed by teams from several area high schools including Atkins, Career Center, East Forsyth, Glenn, Mount Tabor, North Forsyth, and Parkland. For the first time ever, there was also a middle school team from Walkertown Middle School. The number of entries ballooned from 11 teams last year to a whopping 20 teams this year.

The learning behind the event is one of the major benefits of student participation. Thanks to all the participants, volunteers, sponsors, and organizers for making the third-year event in 2011 a TREMENDOUS SUCCESS! Below are links and videos and photos of the event.
